Mormon Myth-busters Revistied (just an idea)
- It seems like there have been a bunch of new myths mentioned in the blog comments since we did the mythbusters show and it might be fun to do a mini-segment to revist this topic and cover some new ones. I know we've covered a couple of these in the feedback segements, but there are a couple we haven't covered. The Sasquatch article in the news might make a nice lead-in to this.
This Sunday I heard a story that was almost exactly the same as the Missionary Myth I had shared in our "Mormon Myths" episode. I'll share the details when we record.
-- SeanGates 2007-10-29 18:56:33 Donny Osmond counseled not to serve a mission but spread the gospel through his music career instead (There are a couple of places on Donny's official website that talk about this and quote him directly on it).

From Wikipedia Entry on the Nauvoo Temple - "The Nauvoo Temple was designed in the Greek Revival style by Mormon architect William Weeks, under the direction of Smith. Weeks' design made use of distinctively Latter-day Saint motifs, including Sunstones, Moonstones, and Starstones, representing the Three Degrees of Glory in the Mormon conception of the afterlife...Three of the original sunstones are known to have survived and are on display — one is on loan to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' Visitor Center in Nauvoo, one is in the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C, the third and only one that has not been restored, along with the only moonstone on display is at the Joseph Smith Historic Center (Community of Christ).
