How To...

This page is a common reference area as we begin to develop our "methods". Feel free to add, edit, modify, and suggest changes.

The Birth of a Show

ShowNotes is the final outline or document for a show. It becomes "set in stone" (as it were) at the end of the Tuesday prior to a Thursday show. Up until that point, it is malleable and a work in progress. Some may choose to work directly in ShowNotes. This is fine, and may often be the case since the topic is already defined.

Pages that may or may not feed into a show are the TopicIdeas and SegmentIdeas pages. Both of these have a place and a purpose for content development. However, an idea need not pass through these pages to make it to a show. These pages are merely breeding grounds for future ideas. Essentially a way to group brainstorm.

Topic Ideas

As the name suggests, TopicIdeas is the drawing board for potential show topics. Topics can be defined as the theme of a show. R-rated movies, tithing, LDS politicians, etc... A topic can be discussed.

Segment Ideas

SegmentIdeas is a page for show segments. A segment is not theme or topic based, but rather a vehicle or method of delivery. Segments can be repeated with different topics. Contemporary examples are Top 10 Lists, Jay Walking, and stump the DJ.
